Have you ever come across the terms “conscious mind” and “subconscious mind”? Understanding the distinction between these two is crucial. Your conscious mind serves as the commander, issuing instructions, while your subconscious mind dutifully obeys. Now, what steps should you take to achieve your desires? The answer lies in regularly reprogramming your subconscious mind. This process holds tremendous power in shaping your life and can be considered the most effective approach to manifesting your goals.
What is a subconscious mind?
The subconscious mind serves as a potent secondary system that governs various aspects of your life. To attain happiness and success, it is essential to master the art of fostering communication between the conscious and subconscious mind. Acting as a comprehensive data repository, the subconscious mind stores a vast array of information, including beliefs, past experiences, memories, skills, thoughts, and observations. It possesses an almost boundless capacity and serves as a permanent storehouse for all that occurs in your life.

What is the power of the subconscious mind?
The function of your subconscious mind is to store and retrieve data. Its job is to ensure that you respond exactly the way you are programmed. Your subconscious mind makes everything you say and do fit a pattern consistent with your self-concept, your “master program.” This is why repeating positive affirmations are so effective — you can actually reprogram your own thought patterns by slipping in positive and success-oriented sound bites.

The Most Powerful Way to Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind To Get What You Want – Marisa Peer
Infants possess innate confidence, but we often overlook the potential of our subconscious mind, which can be likened to an untapped machine awaiting clear instructions. To accomplish your objectives and achieve success, a simple technique allows you to reprogram your subconscious mind before sleep. Our minds are akin in nature—we possess extraordinary minds with a purpose: to carry out our directives. Your responsibility is to effectively convey your desires to your mind by employing specific and detailed language.
Regrettably, many individuals underestimate the capabilities of their minds and lack knowledge on how to wield them effectively. Your mind dutifully follows your instructions, guided by the language you employ. It is crucial to articulate your intentions precisely to your mind, employing pertinent, current, and impactful words.
1. The mind can only work in the present tense
Our minds can only operate in the present tense. When we constantly talk about the future, like saying “Next year I’ll be successful” or “In five years, I’ll be happy,” our minds struggle to understand those concepts. It’s similar to how children get confused when we tell them something will happen tomorrow. They ask, “Is it tomorrow, today? Is it yesterday, or today?” Future pacing is difficult for the mind.
To effectively communicate with your mind, you need to use the word “now.” Instead of saying, “I’ll be successful in the future,” say, “I am becoming super successful now.” By adding “now” or “right now” to your desires, your mind understands that you want those things immediately.
Using future dates like next year or five years from now doesn’t resonate with the mind because it works solely in the present tense. This is why it’s challenging for someone who’s depressed to imagine getting better or for someone in pain to envision being pain-free. The mind operates in the present tense and responds to what is happening now.

2. The mind only responds to words that make pictures
The mind responds best to words that create clear and vivid mental images. Using detailed language is key. If you say, “I will never eat cake again,” your mind focuses on the idea of eating cake and becomes interested in it. The words “no,” “not,” and “don’t” don’t register effectively. When you tell a child, “Don’t touch that vase,” they hear “Touch the vase.” It’s common for kids to touch the vase despite being told not to. The mind doesn’t process negations like “doesn’t” and “doesn’t” and doesn’t act upon them. Think about your past New Year’s resolutions. If you vowed to “never eat chocolate again,” how long did that last? Probably just a few days or even less. Prefixing with “don’t,” “not,” or “never” doesn’t work effectively.
3. Use powerful and super descriptive words
Utilize the power of language by using strong and highly descriptive words. When expressing your desires or setting goals, choose words that evoke vivid images and emotions. Instead of saying, “I want to be successful,” you can say, “I aspire to achieve extraordinary success and reach remarkable heights.” By incorporating powerful and specific language, you engage your mind more effectively and create a greater impact on your thoughts and actions. So, unleash the potential of your words and paint a detailed and captivating picture of what you truly desire.
4. Reprogram your mind to success
Unlock the path to success by reprogramming your mind. Through intentional and focused efforts, you can reshape your thought patterns and beliefs to align with your goals and aspirations. By consistently feeding your mind with positive affirmations, visualizations, and empowering thoughts, you can override limiting beliefs and instil a mindset of success. Embrace the journey of reprogramming your mind and witness the transformative power it holds in helping you achieve your greatest dreams and ambitions.

Final Thoughts
By altering your thought patterns, you have the power to transform your life effortlessly. Picture your conscious mind as the captain and your subconscious mind as a ship. The ship navigates without awareness of the obstacles it may encounter, solely adhering to the commands of its captain—the conscious mind. Devote yourself to this practice diligently. Embrace optimism, continuously remind yourself of your aspirations, and cultivate gratitude. Envision your subconscious mind as the ship and perceive yourself as its captain. What may currently appear insurmountable will gradually become more manageable as you engage in a daily practice over time.
