Even in her early years at St. Teresa’s Higher Secondary School in Vazhappally, Changanassery, Jilumol’s artistic talents shone through.

Jilumol – Education And Graphic Design Career

After completing her education at St. Teresa’s HSS Vazhappally, Changanassery, Kerala, Jilumol pursued her dreams by enrolling in Animation and Graphic Design at St. Joseph College of Communication (SJCC), Changanacherry. Her talents flourished, leading her to a fulfilling career as a Web and Graphic Designer at Santhisoft Technologies.

Membership In MFPA

In 2017, Jilumol became a proud member of the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Association (MFPA), a testament to her dedication and skill in overcoming physical challenges to pursue her artistic passions.

The Dream To Drive

Jilumol’s dreams reached new heights when she set her sights on a seemingly unattainable goal – to drive a car. Despite initial rejections and legal battles, her determination remained unshaken. With the support of individuals like Advocate Shine Varghese, Jilumol embarked on a six-year journey to turn her driving dream into reality.

Legal Battles And Triumph

Jilumol faced numerous challenges, from modifying her car to bureaucratic hurdles. She even encountered mockery from authorities who doubted her ability to drive without her hands. Undeterred, Jilumol approached the High Court, where a cosmic alignment seemed to favour her cause. After a long and hard-fought battle, she achieved a significant milestone – obtaining her driving license.

On the eve of World Disability Day, the Chief Minister of Kerala recognized Jilumol Mariet Thomas (32) as the first Asian without both arms to obtain a four-wheeler license.
